'United are all over the place' - pundits make Manchester United vs Chelsea prediction

Manchester United will be looking to get back to winning ways when they welcome Chelsea to Old Trafford this evening.

The Reds' three-game winning run in the Premier League came to an end on Saturday when they were beaten 1-0 by Newcastle United at St James' Park. Anthony Gordon scored the only goal of the game to seal a fully merited victory for Eddie Howe's team.

United were second best all over the pitch, meaning they will be determined to produce a much-improved performance against the Londoners, who were beaten 4-1 on their last visit to M16. Erik ten Hag's side will also be eager to try and cut the gap to the top four, which currently stands at five points.

But how do the pundits think United's tussle with Mauricio Pochettino's side will go? MEN Sport has had a close look.

"United were woeful at St James' Park on Saturday and it looked like some of their players couldn't be bothered," Sutton told BBC Sport. "Before the game, United boss Erik ten Hag was saying how Newcastle had an extra day to prepare after their Champions League game in midweek, which I don't think was a great message to put out, but he ended up being let down badly by some of his players.

"They weren't prepared to run, while Newcastle ran all over them and should have won by more than 1-0. I am sure we will see more effort here, in front of their own fans, but I think we have to remember where United are at - they are seventh, but none of their eight league wins this season have come against sides in the top half of the table.
