Under-fire Spurs star drops four-word Instagram message just before Man City

Tottenham Hotspur travel to the Etihad Stadium later today to take on Premier League leaders and defending champions Manchester City, with Antonio Conte’s side firm underdogs.

As is normally the case for players, Emerson Royal shared a matchday graphic on his Instagram Story, but the post that followed is one to try and inspire Spurs fans.

He shared an image of himself in the Spurs kit from a previous game, with a Portuguese caption ‘dia de ser feliz’ which means ‘day to be happy’ in English.

He shared this to his Instagram story prior to today’s game as can be seen below…

He’s showing fans that the squad believe they can get a result in Manchester today, proving that there is hope amongst the players.

Emerson hasn’t been a favourite with the Spurs faithful since his switch, with the Brazilian receiving plenty of criticism for performances. A good performance today to help Spurs to a memorable win would go a long way to appeasing the fans that are getting on his back.

Spurs have already fallen seven points below fourth placed Manchester United and desperately need to avoid losing more ground to their rivals in the hunt for Champions League football.
