Atletico Madrid midfielder Geoffrey Kondogbia is an “unbelievable player” for Aston Villa to be looking at, says journalist Dean Jones.

Jones thinks it is unbelievable that Villa are now looking at midfielders like Kondogbia, feeling that a year ago they would not have been able to get a No.6 better than Douglas Luiz.

Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, the transfer insider said: “Kondogbia’s an unbelievable player to be looking at. The promising thing for Aston Villa right now is that a year ago you wouldn’t think that you could get a player any better than Douglas Luiz, and now you’re thinking actually, ‘Yes, we can.’

“So I think that’s a sign of the times. There’s definitely life beyond this current team.”
