Ulster's meeting with Sharks postponed after gastroenteritis outbreak
Ulster's BKT United Rugby Championship meeting with the Cell C Sharks has been postponed, after an outbreak of gastroenteritis in the Ulster squad.
The URC have confirmed the game at Kings Park, as well as the scheduled meeting of the Emirates Lions and Glasgow Warriors will be rescheduled after the Ulster and Glasgow squads both reported several infections and are unable to field teams.
"Due to gastroenteritis infections it is not possible for Ulster or Glasgow Warriors to field full playing squads," a URC statement said.
"In order to ensure a duty of care towards the players involved and given the medical advice received from all key stakeholders, the BKT URC has made the decision to postpone the fixtures.
"The league will now move to examine potential dates to reschedule the games and will update in due course."
Dan McFarland's side traveled from Johannesburg to Durban this week after playing the Lions last week, while Glasgow made the reverse journey, having been beaten by the Sharks a week ago.
