UFC star Molly McCann reveals Katie Taylor undercard dream

UFC star Molly McCann has explained how Katie Taylor fits into her dream of a move into pro boxing.

At this moment in time, there’s an argument to be made that Katie Taylor is one of the best female boxers in the history of the sport. The 36-year-old is 21-0, she won an Olympic gold medal at London 2012 and she helped stage one of the biggest female fights of all-time when she defeated Amanda Serrano on April 30 at Madison Square Garden.

That contest was seen as an instant classic and despite having to walk through fire, she managed to do enough to get her hand raised at the end of the tenth round.

Her future is somewhat uncertain given that she won’t be taking part in an immediate rematch with Serrano, but there has been talk of her taking part in a crossover fight against either Cris Cyborg or Holly Holm.

Another MMA sensation, Molly McCann, recently spoke to the Metro and let them know that her dream is to fight on the undercard for Taylor’s swansong.

“Of course [she’d like to box],” McCann said. “I have spoken to Eddie myself about it. My boxing coach is Liam Smith’s coach, he’s Thomas Whittaker Hart’s coach, JJ Metcalf’s coach… I am in brilliant hands for that. But first things first, I am not losing sight of what the goal is.
