UFC star Conor McGregor facing 6 charges for alleged driving offenses in Ireland

Conor McGregor has been hit with six charges stemming from a driving-related incident last month in Ireland.

On Thursday, the UFC star appeared in Blanchardstown District Court and was informed he is being charged with two counts of dangerous driving, driving without a license, failure to produce a license, driving without insurance and failure to produce insurance, a court spokesperson told ESPN.

Following his day in court Thursday, McGregor tweeted «straight back into training» and signified he would be coming back to the UFC in the welterweight division. McGregor is currently rehabbing from a broken leg suffered last July in a fight with Dustin Poirier.

«3 weights,» McGregor tweeted. «3 KO's. Moving up. The one and only one to ever do it.»

The case will be remanded until June 23, per the court. McGregor was arrested March 22 in the Palmerstown section of Dublin for the alleged driving offenses.

«Mr. McGregor was driving to the gym when he was stopped by [Irish police] for alleged road traffic violations,» McGregor spokesperson Karen Kessler told ESPN at the time in a statement. «He passed the drug and alcohol tests taken at the station.»

McGregor, 33, is the biggest money draw in UFC history and a former featherweight and lightweight champion — the first fighter to hold two titles in different weight divisions simultaneously in the UFC. But the Ireland native has just one victory since 2016.
