UFC legend Daniel Cormier reckons he’d beat Mike Tyson in a street fight

Former UFC champion Daniel Cormier has joked about how he’d beat Mike Tyson in a potential street fight between the pair.

While it may seem strange to MMA fans who only just started watching in the last few years, Daniel Cormier is arguably one of the greatest UFC fighters of all-time. The former two-weight champion beat some of the very best throughout the course of his career and in terms of his losses, he was only ever beaten by Stipe Miocic and Jon Jones – two men who are considered to be the GOATs in their respective divisions.

One thing that non-MMA viewers have sometimes wondered is how someone with Cormier’s physique can make it all the way to the top, which eventually led to an amusing tweet going viral that suggested DC would ‘destroy’ Tyson in a street fight.

Of course, there’s no possible way to know what would go down if it actually happened with both men in their prime, but that didn’t stop the champ from talking about it on his podcast this week.

“You know what Ryan I’ll tell you this right now, I tap in, because in a street fight I’m wrestling everybody! I’m wrestling everybody to the ground, RC. In a street fight you grab bottles, you can use everything.”

“I love Mike, Mike is my boy, I would never raise a finger to harm Mike Tyson, and the only reason I say that is because I’m a little bit jolly!”

For what it’s worth, we’d definitely pay to see it.

Mike Tyson returned to action a few years back for a fun exhibition bout with Roy Jones Jr and yet, while he did look good, he hasn’t gotten back in the mix since then – and it’s not as if he’s been short of offers.
