UFC Fight Night: Jairzinho Rozenstruik ready to "start chopping"

UFC Fight Night is set to return on Saturday 4th June 2022, and main eventer Jairzinho Rozenstruik recently discussed how he plans to take the victory against fellow Heavyweight contender Alexander Volkov.

Rozenstruik enters the octagon on Saturday night as the underdog at +130, whilst Volkov comes back to action following his loss against Tom Aspinall at UFC London back in March 2022.

Jairzinho also returns following a loss to Curtis Blaydes back at UFC 266, so both men will be hoping to get their Heavyweight careers back on track this weekend.

Here’s what Jairzinho Rozenstruik had to say ahead of his UFC Fight Night contest against Alexander Volkov in the main event.

Speaking to the official UFC website, Rozenstruik discussed his climb in the heavyweight division and what he has been learning.

He said: “I still think we’ve got a lot of mountains to climb, but we’re going in the right direction. It doesn’t go as fast as we wanted, but it’s going.

“We definitely want to go from good to great, and closing that gap means a lot, especially when you’ve been in training camp for a fight and you have to think about the things you’ve done wrong.”

Rozenstruik also discussed his loss to Blaydes back at UFC 266 in September 2021, saying that he learned a lot about his ground game.

“I thought I was an eight in grappling, but then you get this setback, and you realize you’re a six or a five-and-a-half, you know? You train, you practice — every style is different, and you’ve got to adjust. For me, everything in wrestling is basic, except for the guys who can wrestle.
