After beating most of the former champions in his division, Alexander Volkanovski is targeting a clash with UFC star Conor McGregor.
Featherweight champion Volkanovski is the No.2 ranked pound-for-pound fighter and is one of the most dominant champions on the UFC roster. He is currently unbeaten in 21 fights and recently defended his belt at UFC 273 against The Korean Zombie.
Volkanovski has previously beaten former UFC featherweight champions Max Holloway and Jose Aldo. McGregor is the only other former 145-pound champion in the UFC, something that entices Volkanovski as he explained on My Mom's Basement with Robbie Fox.
"He is the only other champion in my division that I haven't fought yet," Volkanovski said. "I've beat every other champion so it makes a lot of sense. It's something that I want, purely because of money and the circus around it, hype and all that s***.
"I want all the legends in my division, I've taken out most of them. He's one of them as he's held that belt. If you want that 'goat' status and that's what I want, to take out all these guys so it makes a lot of sense."
