UFC 274 salaries: How much did Oliveira, Chandler, Gaethje & Ferguson make?

Another weekend of sport has passed that saw Liverpool drop points in the football and Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez lose to Dmitry Bivol in the world of boxing.

As well as that, there was of course UFC 274, a card led by lightweights.

It was a superb evening that saw some great fights, but just how much money was on the line?

Well, thanks to Sports Zion, we can now take a look into the fighter pay and bonuses from the weekend’s action.

Before diving into the financials, though, it’s important to remember the following: “Arizona State Athletic Commission does not release fighter pay, so none of the following payout data for the event is official. However, we can estimate a fighter’s pay info by looking at their previous, officially released salaries.”

Along with that, this does not include PPV revenue as that is still an ongoing fee.

As previously mentioned, the card was headlined in main by lightweight bouts. At the fore was Michael Chandler vs Tony Ferguson and Charles Oliveira vs Justin Gaethje along with Rose Namajunas vs Carla Esparza.

Ferguson began with a base salary of $500,000 and that was the bulk of his pay out following that brutal knockout at the hands, or feet even, of Michael Chandler.

Chandler’s sickening kick to the face at the start of the second round ended the fight in dramatic fashion. There was no win bonus or performance bonus for the man from California, but $16,000 in incentives/sponsorship did take his total pay up to $516,000.

On to Chandler, the man who left Ferguson sprawled out in the Octagon. The bout saw a split original purse with both fighters earning £500,000 off the bat. That was then doubled for Chandler instantly via the win bonus, plus an additional performance bonus of $50,000. In
