UCD lift Collingwood Cup for 48th time after seeing off Queen's

UCD won the Collingwood Cup for the 48th time after a 2-1 win over Queen's University at Oriel Park in the final this afternoon.

College opened the scoring in the first minute when former Sligo Rovers academy player Rossa McAllister blasted home into the roof of the net from 20 yards.

Adam Lennon’s corner was head home by Andreas Djurhuus in the 37th minute as the Students doubled the lead before the break.

Lorcan McIlroy pulled a goal back for Queen’s University midway through the second half after Andreas Djurhuus was sent off for two yellow cards.

UCD held out despite Queen's' numerical advantage with Republic of Ireland Under-21 internationals Liam Kerrigan and Colm Whelan being used from the bench for College.
