Tyson Fury vs Oleksandr Usyk fight date dismissed in proposed event with Anthony Joshua

Simon Jordan has shared his fears over the chances of an undisputed heavyweight fight between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk being made.

The pair looked to be close to agreeing to a fight earlier this year before discussions ended, amid demands made by Fury on social media. The end of those negotiations led Usyk to be matched up with mandatory challenger Daniel Dubois, while the ‘Gypsy King’ is seemingly targeting a fight in September.

Boxing fans were given renewed hope of a fight between Fury and Usyk being made after plans for a huge heavyweight event in Saudi Arabia were revealed, which would also include Anthony Joshua facing Deontay Wilder. However, talkSPORT pundit Simon Jordan has poured doubt over the chances of Fury and Usyk finally facing off in December.

"I'm being told that there's no way Tyson Fury's fighting in Saudi in December. And that there's a long way between this fight being made,” Jordan told the talkBOXING show.

"I was the one that spoke initially about the principle of the four fighters fighting in this super fight situation in December. There's no offers been made.

"Now, those offers can be made relatively quickly, but they haven't been made. Discussions are ongoing, but I've been told by relatively reliable sources that this is not happening in December, this will not happen in December."

Despite Jordan’s concerns, it may be understandable that no offers have been made at this point, with all four heavyweights targeting other opponents ahead of the potential card in Saudi Arabia. Joshua, for example, is currently in negotiations with Dillian Whyte and Wilder has been engaged in a back-and-forth
