Tyson Fury vs Oleksandr Usyk card has new fight added after last-minute blow

Peter McGrail will remain on the undercard of Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk's rematch after finding a replacement opponent.

McGrail, 28, was Initially scheduled to face European super bantamweight champion Dennis McCann in Saudi Arabia this Saturday night. However, those fight plans were scrapped after McCann was suspended for a failed drugs test last week.

With his place on the card in jeopardy just days before the event, organisers scrambled for a late opponent to face McGrail, who has a 10-1 record. It has since been confirmed that undefeated Rhys Edwards has stepped up to face McGrail.

Edwards boasts a perfect 16-0 record and was already training for an upcoming fight against Leon Woodstock in Sheffield. Confirming the revised match-up, Saudi boxing promoter Turki Alalshikh took to social media, stating: "It is now confirmed that Peter McGrail will stay on this Saturday's card to face unbeaten British Contender Rhys Edwards as part of the #Usyk2Fury rematch undercard."

Details regarding the specific banned substance found in McCann's system remain undisclosed. However, his promoter, Queensberry, released a statement which said: "The Voluntary Anti-Doping Association (VADA) has today informed all relevant parties that Dennis McCann has returned an adverse finding following an anti-doping test conducted in advance of his upcoming bout. Mr McCann's scheduled fight next Saturday will no longer take place, as the relevant parties investigate the matter further. No further comment on this will be made at this time."
