Tyson Fury vs Hafthor Bjornsson: Gypsy King calls out Thor for boxing fight

In an exclamation certain to bridge the gap between sport entertainment and television drama, Tyson Fury has issued a callout to Game of Thrones star and Strongman World Champion Hafthor Bjornsson.

The former two-time unified heavyweight champion of the world has dazzled across an illustrious career, defeating some of boxing’s biggest names and rising from the depths of personal strife to reclaim his belts against all the odds.

Should the tantalising prospect of a clash against Bjornsson become reality, Fury would be faced with an opponent to finally match his towering figure, with both men standing at a height of 6’9”.

The recently retired Fury initiated the exchange through social media, reposting an impressive image of The Mountain on Instagram and captioning: “I wonder if Thor Bjornsson could take a crashing right hand to that big jaw.”

Continuing with a nice piece of wordplay, Fury said: “Who would have Thor’s hammer? Would this mountain be too big to climb?”

Bjornsson seemingly confirmed the jesting exchange with a response to the threat of one of sport’s greatest stars.

“What happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object? Maybe we’ll find out.”

Having recently pursued endeavours in the fighting world, Bjornsson would clutch the chance with both hands having recently emerged victorious in a grudge bout against fellow Strongman Eddie Hall.

The Mountain’s win over Hall stretched his undefeated boxing record to four contests, having won and drawn two apiece since making his debut in January 2021.
