Tyson Fury vs. Anthony Joshua confirmed for Dec. 11 in Cardiff - ESPN

Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua will fight on Dec. 11 at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Wales, it has been confirmed.

After a decade of verbal back-and-forths and fights between the pair falling through, the two heavyweights will finally meet in the ring for one of the biggest fights in British boxing history, which will be broadcast on Netflix.

Saudi Arabian boxing power broker Turki Alalshikh announced the fight Thursday.

«For 15 years no one has been able to make this fight,» he wrote on social media. «Back in April, I said that any announcement would come from me. I can now confirm that Fury Vs Joshua will be coming to the UK, as I promised British boxing fans. The time for talking is over...»

The fight will be promoted by Ring Magazine, which is owned by Turki Alalshikh, in partnership with UFC president and Zuffa Boxing's Dana White.

«For more than a decade, boxing fans have been clamoring for the heavyweight showdown between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua,» White said in a statement.

«Together, they bring 66 wins, 52 knockouts and multiple heavyweight world titles into the ring. On Dec. 11, two of the biggest heavyweights of this generation finally collide — and the winner will take a significant place in heavyweight history.»

The announcement follows more drawn-out negotiations between the two camps this year. Joshua and Fury signed separate deals with Turki Alalshikh earlier this year before they both came through their final tune-up fights in July.

However, an issue over the location of the event led to yet more prolonged talks in recent weeks, with Fury threatening to move on and calling out Oleksandr Usyk for a third fight.
