Tyson Fury: Two massive heavyweight rivals to be 'ordered to fight' to become mandatory challenger

WBC president Mauricio Sulaiman has confirmed that both Deontay Wilder and Andy Ruiz are to be officially ordered to the WBC convention next month.

The two former world champions will be summoned to fight in an eliminator bout, in order to determine the next mandatory challenger for Tyson Fury‘s WBC world title.

Wilder, who lost the title to Fury in 2020, returned to the ring on October 15th for the first time in a year, and produced a display which was as impressive as it was terrifying.

The Bronze Bomber, who has always been known for his ridiculous punching power, knocked out opponent Robert Helenius in the opening round, leaving the Finnish athlete flat on the canvas.

This recent performance actually set the record for least punches landed in a knockout victory, as Wilder only needed THREE punches to finish Helenius, leaving many to wonder if the Alabama-born fighter has returned even stronger than ever.

His performance was so dominant and exciting that Sulaiman decided to put him into the final eliminator bout for Fury's title.

"Wilder hits very hard, but he had been inactive and after two complicated defeats you don't know how the mind comes, but I saw him like in his best moments," the WBC president said, per The Sun.

"It was impressive. It was a demonstration of power."

Andy Ruiz is a name that many boxing fans, especially British ones, will remember vividly.

The American produced one of the sports biggest ever upsets back in 2019, when he toppled the face of British boxing, Anthony Joshua, and stripped him of all his unified heavyweight titles.
