Tyson Fury tells Dillian Whyte to ‘get it signed’ as fight deadline looms

Tyson Fury has warned Dillian Whyte to sign a fight agreement as the pair’s heavyweight clash hangs in the balance.

Whyte was declared the mandatory challenger to Fury’s heavyweight title by the WBC at the end of 2021, following Fury’s victory over Deontay Wilder in a sensational bout in Las Vegas, but a contract has been difficult to organise amid disagreements across the heavyweight ranks.

Today is the the final deadline for an agreement to be reached to render the fight official. If Whyte does not sign a contract, the scrap will be off.

Fury was originally set to fight Anthony Joshua in 2022, with two bouts thought to be lined up for Saudi Arabia and the UK. But Joshua’s defeat to Oleksandr Usyk in September sent that plan awry, instead setting up an automatic rematch between the Londoner and the Ukrainian which is set to take place in spring.

Offers were made to Joshua and his team for the 32-year-old to step aside from that re-match so that Fury could face Usyk instead, but the Briton refused. Discussions between the Fury and Whyte to settle on a financial package have been drawn out since then, and the Gypsy King is growing increasingly frustrated.

In a social media video addressed directly to Whyte, Fury bellowed: ‘Today’s the final day for signing the contract, you big dosser. So get it signed, s***house, or move on. Jog on you muppet! Come on son! Get out the way, stiff arse!’
