Tyson Fury's huge reality TV move 'revealed' after boxing retirement
Tyson Fury, the Gypsy King, has hinted at a potential new direction following his official retirement from the boxing ring. In a statement released on social media on Monday (13 January), the 36 year old boxer bid farewell to his fans.
Tyson shared with his followers: "I'd like to announce my retirement from boxing. It's been a blast, I've loved every single minute of it. I'm going to end with this. Dick Turpin wore a mask. God bless everybody, see you on the other side. Get up!"
Speculation is rife about what the future holds for Tyson, with many suggesting a foray into television or even tackling a marathon could be on the cards.
Bookies are already weighing in on his next move, with William Hill offering odds of 5/2 that Tyson will participate in the London Marathon later this year. The possibility of him joining the cast of I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! is also on the table, with odds currently at 6/1, reports the Mirror.
A switch to MMA fighting seems less likely, sitting at 12/1, the same odds as seeing Tyson swapping his gloves for dancing shoes on BBC's Strictly Come Dancing.
Commenting on the boxer's unpredictable nature, Lee Phelps, a spokesperson for William Hill, remarked: "Tyson Fury really is Mr Unpredictable. One minute we're pricing up the anticipated fight with Anthony Joshua and the next he's 6/1 to be on this year's I'm A Celeb! Though he's announced his retirement, a U-turn can't be out of the question."
Tyson will likely stay busy at home, as he and his wife Paris have seven children together. In the past, the Gypsy King mentioned that his family had been urging him to quit boxing for some time.
