Tyson Fury advised over Oleksandr Usyk weakness he can exploit
Tyson Fury has been tipped off about a potential weakness in Oleksandr Usyk's armour ahead of their blockbuster heavyweight world title clash. With the fight countdown underway, the Gypsy King has received some strategic advice to focus on Usyk's body.
The much-awaited showdown between heavyweight titans Fury and Usyk is edging closer, with the bout set to light up Saudi Arabia just over a fortnight from now. Initially scheduled for February, the encounter was delayed after Fury sustained a severe cut above his eye during a sparring session.
Artur Beterbiev, the reigning light-heavyweight champion who once floored Usyk with a body shot in their amateur days at the Olympics, believes targeting Usyk's torso could be key for Fury. Speaking to Queensbury Promotions, Beterbiev suggested, "I think yes, not [just] that but sometimes need to punch there too.
"It's boxing, it's heavyweight and I don't know. It's going to be a good fight I think, they are preparing well."
Usyk's last appearance in the ring saw him secure a knockout victory over Daniel Dubois eight months ago, a win marred by debate over a low blow. Meanwhile, Fury's most recent challenge had him controversially outpointing ex-UFC heavyweight champ Francis Ngannou after recovering from a knockdown, reports the Mirror.
Usyk is aiming to become a two-weight undisputed world champion against Fury, having previously held all four belts at cruiserweight. Lawrence Okolie, the former world champion, believes that Usyk's age is starting to show and has backed Fury for the win.
