Tyrone hurling star Damian Casey dies aged 29
Tyrone GAA has been plunged into mourning following the death of hurler Damian Casey, who was just 29 years old.
The Dungannon man, regarded as possibly the county's greatest hurler of all time, made his inter-county debut in 2012.
Casey scored 14 points when he claimed a fourth Nicky Rackard Cup with the Red Hands at Croke Park in May.
A two-time GAA/GPA Champion 15 award winner, he also represented Ireland in a number of shinty internationals against Scotland.
"This breaking news is beyond belief," said Tyrone county board chairman Michael Kerr.
"Someone who brought honour, delight and simple, straightforward gladness to our whole county, and far beyond, is gone and it's so hard to take in."
