Tyrell Malacia has already explained what he will bring to Manchester United ahead of his move to Old Trafford.

Feyenoord's left-back established himself as a key player in the Eredivisie last season and made a stark impression on Erik ten Hag when he was manager of Ajax. His incoming arrival at United is likely to lead to questions about the future of their current left-sided full backs Luke Shaw, Alex Telles and Brandon Williams.

Having not played in the Premier League so far in his relatively short career, questions may also be asked about what Malacia can bring to the United dressing room. Discussing his characteristics, Malacia pointed towards a former Liverpool player as someone he likens himself to.

"I see a lot of myself in Georginio [Wijnaldum], as a person," he explained via Pundit Arena. "Calm, but he knows what he wants.

"I am very much on my own a lot in my room. People I’m with say, ‘I keep forgetting that you’re a professional football player’," Malacia added in a discussion with Ebonyst.

"But I don’t see myself as that professional footballer at all. I don’t use it either, I’m too shy for that."

It is clear from Malacia's comments that he will not be one of the more flamboyant characters in the United dressing room. His demeanour at a young age will likely be one of the positives Ten Hag has seen in the defender as he looks to rebuild United's team.
