Two teenagers charged with murder after 15-year-old Khayri McLean stabbed outside school gates
Two teenagers have been charged with murder after a 15-year-old boy was fatally stabbed outside school gates last Wednesday (September 21). Khayri McLean was rushed to hospital with 'critical injuries' after the incident in Woodhouse Hill, Huddersfield and died a short time later.
Detectives investigating the death of McLean have now charged two males with murder. Both of them, teenage boys, are aged 15 and 16 and are from Huddersfield. The pair have also been charged with possession of a bladed article.
Both have been remanded in custody to appear before Leeds magistrates tomorrow (Monday, September 26).

In a statement, West Yorkshire Police said: "Detectives investigating the death of a 15-year-old boy in Huddersfield have charged two males with murder. Both males, who are 15 and 16 and from Huddersfield, have also been charged with possession of a bladed article.
"Both have been remanded in custody to appear before Leeds magistrates tomorrow. The charges relate to the death of Khayri McLean, who died after he was stabbed in Woodhouse Hill, Huddersfield, last Wednesday."
Khayri was treated at the scene and then taken to Leeds General Infirmary for emergency surgery, police said, but he was pronounced dead a short time later. A GoFundMe page has been set up to give the teenager “the best send-off”.
After his death, floral tributes were left at the scene. Headteacher Andrew Fell said in a statement that North Huddersfield Trust School had “lost a wonderful student from our school community”.
