Two Premier League clubs 'interested' in Oleksandr Zinchenko and more Man City transfer rumours

Arsenal and West Ham are both interested in signing Manchester City left-back Oleksandr Zinchenko.

The 25-year-old - who has endured a horrible few months following Russia's invasion of his homeland - suffered heartbreak in the World Cup play-off on Sunday night. Ukraine were beaten by Gareth Bale's deflected free-kick to send Wales to Qatar, with Zinchenko and his teammates visibly emotional at full-time.

Speaking openly about the situation in his home country, Zinchenko has captured the hearts of the world, while his on-field ability is still shining bright. A central midfielder by trade, he's operated at left-back for City since Guardiola's arrival at the club and has been pretty selfless in regards to game time.

However, a player so talented will want more guarantees as his career continues to blossom. He's been heavily linked with a move away from the Etihad Stadium in recent weeks, with Arsenal and West Ham now joining the list of clubs interested in the Ukrainian.

According to Sam Collings at the Evening Standard, both sides have expressed their interest in a player who had put discussions over his City future on hold until now. The report states that Mikel Arteta's side have discussed the prospect of playing him in midfield, while West Ham are expected to bring him in to provide competition at left-back for Aaron Cresswell.

Elsewhere, Manchester United have joined City in the race to sign Sporting CP central midfielder Matheus Nunes. According to Portuguese newspaper Correio da Manhã (via Sport Witness), significant exits in that department have forced United into recruiting this summer.
