And with that, the transfer window is more important than ever. Most clubs are clawing to strengthen their squads and beat out competition to secure primary targets.

Well, we say ‘most’ clubs for a reason, because Manchester United are still sat twiddling their thumbs at the time of writing.

That’s not to say that every club needs a squad full of fresh faces, though. Instead, there’s always a player or two who are simply too good to lose at almost every single club, making it a nightmare to find the ideal replacement in the transfer market.

It’s hard to identify one singular talent that stands out as completely irreplaceable in Mikel Arteta’s squad for the moment, but Odegaard feels closest to reaching that status right now.
