Two more women allege they were abused by Antony as Manchester United deny cover-up

Three women have now made allegations of abuse against Manchester United forward Antony this week.

Gabriela Cavallin gave an interview to Brazilian website UOL on Monday detailing her allegations, which prompted United to release a statement acknowledging the claims and outlining they were awaiting further information.

Antony denied the allegations made by Cavallin. "I can say with confidence that accusations are false and that the evidence already produced show that I am innocent of the accusations made," he said in a statement.

On Thursday, two more women came forward with allegations of abuse in the Brazilian media. Antony denies any wrongdoing.

A statement from the club prior to the fresh allegations said: "Manchester United acknowledges the allegations made against Antony and notes that the Police are conducting enquiries. Pending further information, the club will be making no further comments.

"As a club we are taking this matter seriously, with consideration of the impact of these allegations and subsequent reporting will have on survivors of abuse."

In a statement released to Mirror Sport on Wednesday night, United categorically dismissed claims they attempted to cover up allegations that Antony attacked Cavallin in a hotel.

Cavallin alleges Antony, 23, headbutted and punched her in a hotel room on January 14 of this year, the day after a Premier League game against Manchester City. She claims to have suffered a cut to her head and a damaged breast implant.
