Two more men arrested after man fatally stabbed in Leigh

Two more suspects have been arrested on suspicion of murder after a man was fatally stabbed in Leigh. Tributes have been paid to Jack O'Brien, 27, who died in hospital on Wednesday (December 4) following a stabbing the previous evening.

Officers arrested two men, aged in their 50s, on suspicion of attempted murder following the incident at around 6.50pm on Tuesday, at Siddow Common. Their arrests were upgraded to murder following Mr O'Brien's tragic death on Wednesday.

In an update issued this afternoon (Thursday), Greater Manchester Police says two more men - one in his 40s and one in his 50s - have also been arrested on suspicion of murder. All four remain in custody for questioning at this time.

Detective Inspector Matthew Hamer, of GMP's Major Incident Team, said: “Investigations are continuing into the sad death of this 27-year-old man, our thoughts remain with him, and we have been in constant contact with his family, keeping them up to speed on developments. “We are still appealing to the public to get in touch with us, if you have any information, CCTV, dashcam or phone footage." People close to Mr O'Brien paid tribute to him on Wednesday evening.
