Two men suffer serious injuries in 'double stabbing' outside petrol station

Two men have suffered serious injuries following a 'double stabbing' in Salford. Greater Manchester Police is stepping up stop and search powers tonight (March 26) following the incident on Cromwell Road, near the Texaco service station.

Officers were called out following an altercation at around 7pm this evening. GMP says two men suffered injuries that were consistent with knife wounds.

The Manchester Evening News understands the pair were victims of a street robbery involving motor bikes. Their injuries are not life threatening, the force says.
