Two India Stars To Be Rested For 5th Test Against England? Report Makes Massive Revelation

The Indian cricket team management may rest two players - one batter and one bowler - as part of workload management in the fifth Test match against England in Dharamsala starting March 7, according to Cricbuzz. With Indian clinching the five-match series with a victory over England in the Ranchi Test, the team management is looking to provide rest to some key players. However, the report did not mention the names of the cricketers who are being considered by the team management and selectors. The report also claimed that Jasprit Bumrah is all set to make his return to the playing XI in Dharamsala. The fast bowler was rested for the fourth Test match in Ranchi keeping the T20 World Cup in mind.

Meanwhile, KL Rahul has missed the last three Test matches in the ongoing series against England due to injury and according to Cricbuzz, he may end up missing the final game in Dharamsala.

It claimed that Rahul has not recovered completely from the quadriceps injury he suffered in the first Test and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has sent him to London for an expert opinion.

Rahul was reportedly '90 per cent' cleared to play the third Test match but the team management and National Cricket Academy (NCA) decided to reassess the situation.

Rahul was named in the India squad for the final three matches of the series by with the condition that his availability will be dependent on his recovery. With India already leading 3-1 in the five-match series, the selectors may end up giving him more time to recover keeping the T20 World Cup in mind.
