Two ex-Man United managers tipped for Premier League return as Erik ten Hag's chances emerge

Former Manchester United managers Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and David Moyes are currently leading the way to become Wolverhampton Wanderers' next boss in the betting market.

Their current head coach Gary O'Neil has reportedly been fired by the West Midlands club after a terrible start to the campaign which sees them languishing in the relegation places. O'Neil's last match ended in heartbreaking circumstances as relegation rivals Ipswich Town scored a last-minute header through Jack Taylor to nick all three points at Molineux.

Watching on from the stands was Solskjaer which leads him to be favourite for the job with SkyBet at 11/4. However, the Norwegian's appearance in Wolverhampton could be just coincidental as he remains good friends with Ipswich boss Kieran McKenna who was his assistant during his time at United.

Moyes is closely behind Solskjaer with the bookmakers pricing him at 7/2. He has been out of work since leaving his role at West Ham United in the summer.

Erik ten Hag has also made the bookies list of potential new managers for Wolves but his chances seem to be slim at this stage. He is priced at 33/1 alongside the likes of Jose Mourinho, Brendan Rodgers and Steven Gerrard.

Among the names with links to United also in the running are former Coventry City manager Mark Robins and ex-United midfielder, current Middlesbrough boss, Michael Carrick both priced at 16/1. Should anyone with a United background get the job at Molineux, they will have a near immediate reunion with their former employer when they face them in the West Midlands on Boxing Day.
