Two Bournemouth players set to miss fixture vs Man City

AFC Bournemouth manager Scott Parker has confirmed that two of his new signings will miss the trip to Manchester City this weekend.

The Cherries made a winning return to the top flight with a 2-0 victory over Aston Villa last Saturday. Jefferson Lerma and Kieffer Moore were on the scoresheet for the South Coast club as they picked up the three points.

City meanwhile started their Premier League title defence with a 2-0 success of their own at West Ham United. Erling Haaland bagged a brace in the capital as the Blues strolled to a comfortable win.

Parker's task this weekend has been made trickier due to the absences of Ryan Fredericks and Joe Rothwell. Discussing their injuries, Parker told the media: "Ryan’s come on a little bit, he’s out on the grass with us and he’s pushing ahead in the right direction.

"He’s probably a few weeks away from being fully integrated into training. Joe’s a little bit behind that and is still not out on the grass at this moment in time.

"He’s progressing in the right way but given where his injury was, this is where he currently is. They’ll both miss the weekend."

Bournemouth winger David Brooks also remains sidelined, having not played since announced last October he had been diagnosed with stage two Hodkin lymphoma. Brooks was given the all-clear earlier this year.
