Turtle Bay opens its doors in Salford Quays with brand new cocktail menu

The hotly-anticipated Salford Quays outpost of Caribbean restaurant chain Turtle Bay has finally opened its doors. The new spot is located at the waterside terrace overlooking Salford Quays.

Seating up to 180 people, the chain’s third venue boasts the trademark beach shack-style that many will be familiar with, but with some individual touches. A huge sound system stacked with old-school records lines one wall, while the bar and kitchen line another. Meanwhile, a bright and bold colour scheme, plus fixtures and furniture in tropical prints inject some sunshine and colour into the social space.

To celebrate the launch, Turtle Bay have created five brand new cocktails as well as two new Steel Bottom Beers. The new cocktail creations includes the Caribbean Candy Sour with Kingston 62 Gold Rum, amaretto and falernum, green melon liqueur, apple, grapefruit and fresh lime.

The restaurant has also brought some island inspiration to the classic espresso martini with a new Dessert Island cocktail, consisting of dark rum, Tia Maria, cold brew coffee, salted caramel sauce and vanilla.

They’ve also re-worked a classic long island, bringing together Tobago Tea, Duppy White rum, vodka, tequila, gin, triple sec, grapefruit, mango and fresh lime. Classics still feature though, but this time with a new twist, like Jamrock Punch with gin, passionfruit, strawberry, apple, grapefruit & fresh lime.

And back by popular demand is the Tingwray, made up of Wray & Nephew, white rum, grapefruit and fresh lime - a delicious combination of strength and flavour.
