Trump battles back to book semi-final spot at Northern Ireland Open

Judd Trump fought back to beat Stephen Maguire 5-4 in Belfast and book his place in the Northern Ireland Open semi-finals.

Trump won four of the last five frames after trailing 3-1 to clinch it in the decider with a break of 54 - his fifth successive half-century score - and extend his winning run to 18 matches.

The world number three, who won the English Open and Wuhan Open earlier this month, is on course to become only the fifth player in history to win three ranking titles in a row.

He now faces Barry Hawkins, who withstood a fightback by David Gilbert to clinch a final-frame decider and edge through 5-4.

Hawkins made breaks of 138, 134 and 91 to lead 4-2 and after Gilbert had drawn level with scores of 65 and 106, the world number 14 sealed his place in the last four with a decisive break of 57.

Jack Lisowski maintained his fine form and stayed on course for his first professional title by beating Ricky Walden 5-1.

Lisowski, 32, who has only conceded a single frame in each of his matches this week, made a century and two more breaks over 70 and will play Chris Wakelin in his semi-final after the world number 25 defeated China's Yuan Sijun 5-2.
