Troy Parrott confident recent rise can give Conte serious food for thought, with Tottenham plan laid out

Troy Parrott feels that his luck has turned and that he is now ready to impress Tottenham boss Antonio Conte in pre-season this summer.

The 20-year-old has emerged as one of the brightest talents at Spurs following his recent rise. He made his first-team debut in September 2019, before his Premier League debut came three months later.

From there, Parrott has gone on three loans in two seasons. Although, he has only found relative success in his latest spell with MK Dons.

Centre-forward Parrott scored 10 goals and assisted seven others last term.

As a result, he feels confident that he has turned a corner and is ready to make another mark on the Tottenham first team.

“All I can do is try to impress whoever is there, and that’s what I fully intend on doing when I go back there for pre-season,” the Republic of Ireland international told The Independent.

“After two disappointing loans, it is fair to say that things are looking up for me and I am on a bit of an upward trajectory.

“I just need to keep that going, keep improving and keep giving it all.

“Going on loan is for playing men’s football and realising what you have to do throughout a game, and I think I have matured a lot over the three loans that I’ve had. I am just happy that it is starting to click.”

Indeed, Parrott’s impressive MK Dons spell came after a tough 2020/21 season.

He spent the first half of the season at Millwall, but an ankle injury ruined any hope of progress. Parrott then moved to Ipswich until the end of the 2020/21 term but could not hit his best form.

Nevertheless, he enjoyed a resurgence last season and is ready to get amongst the Tottenham first team.

Whatever Conte decides to do with Parrott this summer, the forward has an exciting campaign
