Swansea City transfer news as Tottenham's Troy Parrott opens up on future and reveals 'unexpected' Swans star link-up

Tottenham star Troy Parrott says he will try to impress boss Antonio Conte over the course of pre-season, admitting he is unsure what his future holds at present.

Parrott has emerged as a target for Swansea this summer after a successful loan stint with MK Dons last season. Russell Martin continued his recruitment planning with the signing of Harry Darling from his former club on Saturday, ticking off a much-needed addition in a problem area for Swansea last season.

An attacker will also be on the head coach's list, with Parrott stating he will knuckle down and see what happens.

“I can’t control what goes on there,” he said. “That’s out of my hands. All I can do is try to impress whoever is there and that’s what I fully intend doing when I go back there for pre-season.

“I’m not sure what’s going on about the future. I’ve just kept trying to play well for Ireland and I got a few messages from people saying ‘well done’. It’s always nice to get a goal in a big game like Scotland, especially at the Aviva. It was my first competitive one too. The most important thing is getting into the right areas to score goals.

“That’s better than standing on the edge of the box waiting for things to fall. It’s about getting in there to see what happens.”

Parrott also spoke about his relationship with Swansea's Michael Obafemi with the national team. The pair linked up well in the 3-0 hammering of Scotland earlier this month, and their understanding could bode well should a deal for the Spurs man become a reality.
