Triple MotoGP Legend celebrations set for 2022

Jorge Lorenzo, Max Biaggi and Hugh Anderson’s inductions into the MotoGP Hall of Fame have been confirmed for 2022.

Multiple Grand Prix World Champions Jorge Lorenzo, Max Biaggi and Hugh Anderson were set to be inducted as MotoGP Legends prior to the Covid-19 pandemic with plans placed on hold due to the increasing limitations.

As the global situation begins to ease, more traditional MotoGP Legend ceremonies can now be implemented, allowing the trio the opportunity to celebrate the milestone in the company of family, friends, and the wider MotoGP community.

Five-time Champion Jorge Lorenzo, who secured three premier class titles with Yamaha alongside his two back-to-back 250cc trophies with Aprilia, will be inducted on Saturday April 30th at the Circuito de Jerez-Angel Nieto, in Spain. Four consecutive 250cc crowns, multiple premier class victories and two WorldSBK Championships seal Max Biaggi’s place amongst the Legends with the Italian’s celebrations set for Friday 27th May at the Autodromo del Mugello. 86-year-old New Zealander Hugh Anderson, who claimed two 50cc and 125cc titles apiece in the 1960’s, will have longer to wait, with initial plans set to see the ceremony take place as the MotoGP Championship returns to Australia’s Phillip Island for the first time in three years, in mid-October.
