Tributes to 'true pillar of the community' Manchester City fan after his death

Tributes are being paid to an avid Manchester City fan described as a 'true pillar of the community' after his sad death following a road traffic collision. The family of John Pearson, who was 75, have paid touching tribute to a 'wonderful husband, fantastic dad and much-loved grandpa'.

Mr Pearson was one of the founder members of a 'Junior Blues' group where he lived connected to what his family called 'his beloved Manchester City'.

Mr Pearson, from Fulwood, Lancashire, was driving a Volvo C70 on Egerton Road, Prestwon, when the vehicle collided with a parked car around midday last Friday, September 23.

Lancashire Police said in a statement today: "Following a coroner's report, it has been established Mr Pearson suffered a medical episode at the wheel, causing him to collide with the stationary vehicle. Nobody else was involved in the incident.
