Tributes have been paid to Asuquo Ema following the untimely passing of the popular former Hull Kingston Rovers forward.

Ema, known universally as ‘Zook’ and born in Beverley to Nigerian parents in July 1963, died at the age of 58 after a fight with cancer. In November 2021, the club announced Ema had been diagnosed with a rare form of lymphoma, and he sadly lost his battle on Sunday.

Robins chairman Neil Hudgell tweeted: “RIP Zook. A champion player from my youth, but much more than that, a champion man.”
