Trent Alexander-Arnold's Treble response highlights Man City's dominance

Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnold believes Manchester City are favourites for 'everything' as Pep Guardiola's side close in on a Treble.

City were crowned Premier League champions after overhauling Arsenal in the top flight title race. It confirmed the Etihad Stadium club's fifth crown in the space of six years.

And at Wembley on Saturday, City beat rivals Manchester United 2-1 at Wembley to win the FA Cup. Ilkay Gundogan's brace secured the famous trophy, though Bruno Fernandes has got Erik ten Hag's side back on level terms from the penalty spot in the first half.

City are now two thirds of the way towards completing a memorable Treble which, if achieved, would match United's achievement in the 1998/99 season. Inter Milan stand between City and achieving that feat in the Champions League final in Istanbul.

Liverpool and England right-back Alexander-Arnold will be hoping the Anfield side can close the gap to Guardiola's men. The full back who was at the Spanish Grand Prix in Catalunya on Sunday, was probed by Sky Sports over whether he believes City will manage the treble and he gave a frank response.

The Liverpoolman simply replied: "I think Man City is always favourites for everything."
