Trent Alexander-Arnold details Liverpool FC plan to stop Manchester United ace Marcus Rashford

Liverpool right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold believes the Merseysiders have the necessary tools to thwart Manchester United star Marcus Rashford ahead of Sunday's meeting at Anfield.

Rashford has been in sensational form for United this season, scoring 25 goals and registering nine assists in 39 appearances in all competitions. He has kicked on since returning from World Cup duty with England in December, scoring a very impressive 17 times in just 20 matches since the restart.

The England international, who scored in United's 2-1 win over Liverpool in the reverse meeting at Old Trafford back in August, has scored in all of his last five Premier League appearances and will be determined to add to his tally on Sunday. However, England colleague Alexander-Arnold is confident that he and his teammates will have enough to stop him in his tracks.

"The only thing that's really changed is he's probably scored a lot more recently but he's the same player, he's always a threat and I'm sure he will be a threat on Sunday," said Alexander-Arnold. "It will be a tough game but it's one I'm looking forward to and it will be a good test.

"It's difficult [to stop Rashford]. He's a player who's got a lot of weapons in his arsenal but I think it's more of a team effort, it won't be just a one-on-one thing.

"They'll have more than just Marcus going forward, it's a team thing and as long as the team wins on Sunday, that's all I'm bothered
