Traveller left 'shaking' after spotting 'mouse' at Manchester Airport

A customer was left 'shaking' and 'disgusted' after she claims she saw a mouse 'running around' while eating at Manchester Airport.

Laura Mellor was jetting off from Terminal 3 on Monday (March 18) when she sat down to eat at the Airport. But she says she was left feeling 'physically ill' after spotting the tiny animal in the waiting area 'near' to cafes and restaurants.

Footage shows what appears to be a mouse in the Terminal 3 waiting lounge. Manchester Airport said mice 'can be drawn' to their terminals, but they take measures to deter them and 'aim to maintain the highest standards of hygiene'.

"It’s horrific," Laura told the Manchester Evening News. "It's absolutely disgusting. I feel physically ill that I ate here. It's so near the food places.

"Honestly, as if this airport couldn't get any worse."

A Manchester Airport spokesperson said: "We aim to maintain the highest standards of hygiene around the airport. This includes taking measures to deter pests like mice. We make sure access to food sources is limited, carry out regular patrols and checks and set traps and other deterrents when necessary.

“Like all public buildings, particularly ones surrounded by countryside like Manchester Airport, mice can be drawn to our terminals in search of food and warmth. If any member of the public spots a mouse we ask that they report it to a member of staff.”
