Transfer round-up: Everton sign Lindstrom

Everton have signed Napoli midfielder Jesper Lindstrom on loan with an option to make the move permanent in 2025, both clubs said on Friday.

While the financial details of the deal were not disclosed by either club, Italian media reported that Everton would pay Napoli around €3million in a loan fee and have agreed to a €22.5million buy option for the 24-year-old.

The Denmark international joined Napoli from Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt in 2023 and has made 29 appearances for the Italian club.

"Last year was a tough year for me but I'm so happy to be here now and I can’t wait to get started," Lindstrom told the club website.

"This is a season for me to come back on track. I think Everton is a very good fit for me and I’m ready to show why I should stay here."

Everton have also signed forward Iliman Ndiaye from Ligue 1 side Olympique de Marseille on a five-year contract.

Rangers have signed Czech Republic international Vaclav Cerny on a season-long loan from VfL Wolfsburg.

The winger, who played once for his country during Euro 2024, will spend the 2024-25 campaign at Ibrox.

"It is a very nice day for me. I am happy to be here and I can't wait to get started," the 26-year-old said on the club's official website.

"Obviously from the first talks with the manager, it gave me a very good feeling and from there on I would say it went pretty fast.

"I was happy about the contact and just couldn't wait to come down here and be here and experience it all."

Newly promoted Portsmouth have completed the signing of defender Jacob Farrell ahead of their return to the Sky Bet Championship.

The 21-year-old joins for an undisclosed fee from Central Coast Mariners, signing a four-year contract at Fratton Park.
