Tragedy as Brit, 18, dies on family holiday to Lanzarote in horror accident

A Scottish teenager, known as "the kindest young man", tragically lost his life during a family holiday in Lanzarote. David Alexander, 18, reportedly fell from a hotel balcony and was rushed to hospital but sadly didn't survive. His death has been described as a 'tragic accident'.

David was a star pupil at the Vale of Leven Academy in Alexandria, West Dunbartonshire, Scotland, and had recently started studying game development at the City of Glasgow College. His headteacher, Matthew Boyle, said: "We are all very shocked and saddened to hear of the tragic and untimely death of our former student."

"David was a much-loved and respected School Base Champion Award 2021 winner, who was popular with his peers and all of our teachers and support staff. David's family and friends are very much in our thoughts at this very difficult time."
