Traffic held on M4 after crash as car left in central reservation

Traffic was temporarily held on a stretch of the M4 due to a road traffic collision. Traffic was held for just under 10 minutes on the M4 westbound between J48 Hendy and J49 Pont Abraham due to the accident.

Traffic built along the M4 Westbound before easing as the lane was cleared. Photos from Traffic Wales cameras show that fire engines attended the scene and a vehicle was in the central reservation. There appeared to be standing water on the road amid what has been heavy rain in many parts of Wales this morning.

Wales is being hit by Storm Herminia, named by the Spanish Met Office. There are yellow weather warnings for wind and rain in force for many parts of the country.
