Tour de France 2023: Podium hopeful Enric Mas abandons after crash on Stage 1, Richard Carapaz also injured

Podium hopeful Enric Mas (Movistar) abandoned the Tour de France after crashing on the opening stage, while former Giro d'Italia champion Richard Carapaz (EF Education-EasyPost) was also injured at the same corner. The pair crashed on the descent of the Alto del Vivero, 23km from the finish in Bilbao, with Mas unable to continue.
