'Tough & topsy turvy' - Bolton Wanderers' season verdict given by goalkeeper as Ian Evatt aim set

Bolton Wanderers' season was 'tough and topsy turvy' and Ian Evatt will be seeking more consistency from his players in the upcoming campaign.

That's according to Salford City goalkeeper Tom King. Wanderers finished the recently concluded regular campaign in League One ninth, a good achievement for a newly promoted side.

Bolton's form in the second half of the campaign saw them shoot up the League One table and make the top 10. Wanderers sat 18th in the third tier of English football following a mid-January loss to Wycombe Wanderers.

But after a 2-0 win at home versus Ipswich Town on January 15, Wanderers lost just three more games for the rest of the campaign as they moved up into the top half of the table, ending the season eight unbeaten with four straight wins and a tally of 73 points. It is encouraging form which the Whites will be hoping to carry into next season and target a promotion charge in earnest.

Speaking as a pundit on BBC Radio Manchester, Ammies stopper King believes it was a 'tough' and 'topsy turvy' season for Wanderers given their fortunes up and down the table. He feels Wanderers boss Evatt will be seeking more consistency next season to help them reach their goals, and that the squad at the University of Bolton Stadium is buying in to what he demands.

He said: "A tough season. I think they went into the season and I read an article this week that spoke about that they actually overachieved with the value of thair squad at the start of the year, which had them down predicted to finish 16th.
