Tottenham XI vs Burnley: Kane starts - Starting lineup, confirmed team news & injury latest for Premier League game today
Harry Kane starts for Tottenham at Burnley.
The England captain delivered a sublime striker‘s performance against Manchester City at the weekend, with his two-goal salvo sealing a shock 3-2 win for Spurs at the Etihad and blowing the title race wide open.
Kane finished that game moving uncomfortably due to a knock to his back, though manager Antonio Conte has insisted he is ready for this evening’s trip to Lancashire, joking that the 28-year-old “would play on one leg”.
Sergio Reguilon returns to the bench, meaning Ryan Sessegnon will retain his spot at wing-back against Burnley.
Oliver Skipp is also sidelined, with the midfielder yet to return to training after picking up an infection while rehabbing a groin injury. Japhet Tanganga (knee) is also out.
The rest of the Spurs XI rather picks itself following such a superb win and with no fresh injury concerns, though Conte could well make one change in midfield.
“The midfielders against Manchester City, Pierre and Rodrigo, they put in a fantastic performance, they ran a lot and the effort was top,” Conte said.
“We have to see if they recover very well otherwise I will have to make rotation because we have many games in a row in a few days and we have to try in every moment to find the best solution.”
Tottenham predicted XI (3-4-3): Lloris; Romero, Dier, Davies; Emerson, Bentancur, Hojbjerg, Sessegnon; Kulusevski, Son, Kane.
