Tottenham 'will be sniffing around' for 69-goal star at Hotspur Way

Tottenham will be “sniffing around” for Christian Eriksen this summer, according to Sky Sports reporter Michael Bridge.

The Denmark international spent the second half of last season at Brentford, but he’s yet to decide where he’ll be playing his football next term.

According to Football Insider, Antonio Conte’s side are expected to make a move for Eriksen, who scored 69 goals in his first spell at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

He said: “I’ve been thinking about it, but I don’t know what the future holds. It will be a decision from a sports perspective and also a family perspective.

“I haven’t made up my mind 100% but I do have an idea. But where it’s going to be, I don’t know. Brentford is definitely in the category for sure.”

Meanwhile, the Mirror believe Manchester United, who are in the market for a Paul Pogba replacement, and Everton, are in the race for Eriksen’s signature, but Bridge also expects Tottenham to be at the front of the queue.

He told GIVEMESPORT: “I still don’t think Spurs have ever replaced him, he’s such a good footballer. He spent seven years at Tottenham, he wanted this fresh challenge and I know fans weren’t happy with how it finished.

“He went to Conte’s Inter and it didn’t start well for him, but then he became a key player, so I’m sure Spurs will be sniffing around.”
