Tottenham 'will be in the running' for 113-goal star Paratici knows well

Tottenham Hotspur are ‘in the running’ to sign Juventus attacker Paulo Dybala after it was revealed he will leave the Serie A giants at the end of the season, according to transfer insider Dean Jones.

Antonio Conte, who was appointed as Spurs’ head coach last November, is likely to bolster his squad when the window reopens in the summer and Dybala could head to north London.

It was revealed by Goal’s Juventus correspondent Romeo Agresti earlier this afternoon that the Turin-based club will not be extending Dybala’s contract.

Dybala’s current deal, worth £222,000-per-week, is set to expire at the end of the campaign and the revelation has put some of Europe’s leading clubs on red alert.

Spanish sources have recently claimed Tottenham are among the frontrunners to secure the 28-year-old’s services and the north Londoners have already made a firm offer.

The report suggests Spurs managing director Fabio Paratici’s influence could play a key role in getting a deal over the line as he previously worked with Dybala while he was at Juventus, but Inter Milan are also interested.

A move to La Liga could otherwise be on the cards as Barcelona and Atletico Madrid are understood to be keen on Dybala.

Jones believes a breakdown in contract negotiations between Dybala and Juventus could play into Spurs’ hands.

The transfer insider also feels welcoming the attacker to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium could give the north Londoners a boost in their attempts to keep Harry Kane at the club.
