Tottenham star 'could be out for a few weeks' at Hotspur Way

Tottenham winger Lucas Moura could be out for a “few weeks”, according to Sky Sports reporter Michael Bridge.

The £80,000 per-week star has missed the last two Premier League games and Bridge reckons he’s set to be sidelined for another couple of matches.

It’s been a disappointing start to the season in more ways than one for Moura, who’s not only suffered this injury setback, but Richarlison’s arrival and Dejan Kulusevski’s form means his game-time had been reduced significantly.

He played just 12 minutes across Spurs’ opening three fixtures, before sitting out the Nottingham Forest win and West Ham draw through injury.

Ahead of the visit to the London Stadium, Conte confirmed that Moura was suffering from inflammation in his tendon before providing a worrying update.

“About Lucas, he has this inflammation in his tendon,” the Italian said. “I hope to recover him very soon, because for sure when I was a player, I had a lot of pain in my tendon. You know very well tendon inflammation doesn’t finish in only one week, two weeks.”

When asked about the Brazilian’s injury, he told GIVEMESPORT: “He could be out for a few weeks, so that’s a bit of a concern there.”

Normally, missing a couple of weeks would be far from disastrous, but Moura’s lay-off could hardly have come at a worse time for Tottenham.

With Conte unable to sign an attacker before Thursday’s 11pm deadline, the former PSG ace is one of just four wide options available to Conte, which is why this is a major concern.

And with the Champions League returning next week, Moura could end up missing a cluster of games, starting with the meeting against Fulham.

The Cottagers’ short trip across London starts a run of five games in the space of just 14 days, with Spurs
