Tottenham: Signing 22 y/o rising star now a 'high priority' for Spurs

Tottenham are prioritising Middlesbrough’s Isaiah Jones over other right wing-back options right now, according to transfer insider Dean Jones.

It is a position manager Antonio Conte was keen to strengthen in January but was unable to, meaning one could arrive in the summer.

According to 90min, Tottenham have asked to be kept informed over the future of Jones as they look to improve the right side of their defence.

Interest in the 22-year-old comes after the north London club recently missed out on Adama Traore. The Times reported that Conte had identified him as the man to solve the team’s issue at right wing-back before his loan move to Barcelona.

Since then, Spurs have been linked with Southampton’s Tino Livramento and Jones’ Middlesbrough team-mate Djed Spence, who is presently out on loan at Nottingham Forest.

Football Insider claims the Premier League outfit have set their sights on signing the former Chelsea academy player, while Goal has stated that they are currently the favourites to land Spence.

Jones has told GIVEMESPORT that out of Jones, Livramento and Spence, the first of the three is Tottenham’s priority.

Speaking to GMS, the football journalist said: “From what I’m told, Isaiah Jones has actually emerged as a player of higher priority for Tottenham in the next window.”

Jones, Livramento and Spence are young so all have the time and potential to develop into really good players.

However, Livramento, who is already playing at Premier League level and has been thriving, looks like the best option here.
